Centrifuge is a commonly used equipment in the drilling solids control system and the drilling waste management system. According to the separation efficiency, it is divided into drilling solids control centrifuges and drilling waste management centrifuges. What is the difference?

Drilling solids control centrifuges

Drilling solids control centrifuges generally use medium and low speed centrifuges. Since the drilling solids control system uses multi-stage solids control equipment, when the drilling fluid is separated from the shale shaker to the real separator to the sand removal and mud removal integrated machine after three-stage filtration and separation, the mud particle has become very small, and the configuration requirements for the centrifuge have become smaller. Low-to-medium speed centrifuges can already meet the needs of mud treatment.

Drilling waste management centrifuges

High-speed centrifuges or frequency conversion centrifuges are generally used as centrifuges in drilling waste management. The drilling waste management system consists of a drill cuttings dryer and a high-speed variable frequency centrifuge. The drilling waste management system is located at the end of the solids control system to process the waste after the solids control system. The proportion of the drilling cuttings is very large. The solid particles have a large size. Because the centrifuge treats mud processed by the drill cuttings dryer, the particle size in the mud is very large, which requires a high level of drilling centrifuges. Therefore, it is more appropriate to use a high-speed variable frequency centrifuge.
